Galeana is a closed-off aperture sans serif font with four subfamilies: Condensed (compressed), Standard (standard), and Extended. It was inspired by Latin American typefaces popularly used in European editorial designs like Plastique or Zembla. Early variants created during the design process resemble thin trunks of Galenas trees (African Tulip Trees), while others feature wider crown shapes reminiscent of their wider trunks.
