Proxima Nova (2005) to connect typefaces such as Futura and Akzidenz Grotesk. The result is a modern shape that has a geometric form about it.
I had originally issued it in 1994 as Proxima Sans (now discontinued) in 3 weights (Regular, Medium, Black) from my early years, but only the most basic character set and italics. The original six fonts have been developed into a full-featured and versatile family consisting of 42 fonts (7 weights in 3 widths with italics).
I have been updating and adding to Proxima Nova since 2005, increasing the character set nearly three-fold, from 700 to 1944 characters in the latest release.
In addition, we have added support for Greek, Cyrillic & Vietnamese scripts as well as a slew of currency symbols… and we have our good friends from Variable Fonts to thank for all three width and italic variations from a Medium-weight, all new additions bring the total number of fonts in this family to 48 Minion!
Proxima Nova has been the most widely purchased commercial typeface on MyFonts.com since its release in mid-2010. & is one of the most popular web fonts.
