The TT Runs Font Family project started with the quite simple idea—to create the wide modern sans-serif, which will be as sporty as possible and will look great on sportswear. Before proceeding to sketching, we analyzed the theme of Olympic venues and their identities and also read how “sports” typefaces changed in different era sand on different continents.
As a result, the idea to make a typeface aimed at its application to elastic sports outfits or casual sportswear was born. This decision influenced almost everything – the wide, slightly stretched proportions of our typeface, the reverse contrast of the shape of some characters relative to the vertical line and their deformation, and the overall plasticity of the letters.
TT Runs is very versatile — on the one hand, it is a regular sans-serif that can be used even in a large text array, and on the other hand, it is a bright display typeface with unusual proportions of characters, perfect for publications and performances.
